Pravin Vitthal Tarde’s Dharmaveer has hit the gold at the box office. The film had a good pre-release buzz and saw houseful boards right from day 1. With tremendous positive responses coming in, the film jumped on Saturday and Sunday. Below is the film’s collection till now.
For those who don’t know, the film is a biopic on the life of late Anand Dighe. He was Shivsena’s Thane district head. He was known to help the needy and one of the hardcore promoters of Hindutva. His persona and social work earned him the status of Balasheb Thackeray of Thane. In the film, Prasad Oak has portrayed the character.
Dharmaveer had a good pre-release buzz thanks to the well-cut teaser and Prasad Oak’s look. The excitement got multiplied when the trailer was out. Plus, Dighe had always been a mystic political personality. All such factors helped the film to take a big start as it opened with 2.05 crores across theatres in Maharashtra. The first day saw a huge response coming from the Thane district, which got spread to other regions too due to highly positive word-of-mouth.
On Saturday, the film saw a huge jump with 3.17 crores coming in. Yesterday i.e. on day 3, the Prasad Oak starrer showed another rise by making 3.86 crores. So, Dharmaveer’s collection till now stands at 9.08 crores. The number is epic considering it is coming from just Maharashtra.
The weekend collections have left another blockbuster Pawankhind behind by a huge margin. In the first three days, Pawankhind had made 6.48 crores at the box office.
It’s learned that in many theatres in Mumbai, shows for Dharmaveer have been increased by replacing it with Ranveer Singh’s Jayeshbhai Jordaar. Ranveer’s film is finding it hard to attract footfalls in theatres, on the other hand, this Marathi film helmed by Pravin Vitthal Tarde is on a rampage mode.
