The trend of re-releases continues to grow and the latest superstar to be a part of it is none other than Allu Arjun. Yes, to celebrate his birthday, Desamuduru was re-released in theatres. Flop show of Desamuduru in re-release trend!
Recently, ahead of Ram Charan’s birthday, his Orange was re-released in theatres. Upon its original release in 2010, the film was a box office flop. However, things have been totally surprising in special shows. It has emerged as a huge success at ticket windows. Initially, the film was planned to be arranged in special shows for just 4 days. But considering the superb craze among Ram Charan fans, the film was continued for more days in theatres with newly added shows.
Sadly, Allu Arjun’s film has failed to enjoy such momentum.
Desamuduru re-release box office collection
Desamuduru has been re-released in theatres on 6th April, ahead of Allu Arjun’s birthday on 8th April. On the first day, the response was good but numbers dropped heavily on the next day and occupancies are clearly not up to the mark ever since.
As per the trade update, the film has managed to earn just about 1 crore at the box office during its re-run. This is an extremely low collection when compared to recent releases of Ram Charan and Pawan Kalyan, which earned more than 3 crores. Considering the hype around Pushpa 2: The Rule, a solid re-run was expected but that’s clearly not the case.
Desamuduru was originally a huge box office success
Upon its release in 2007, the film was a huge hit at ticket windows and back then, it was one of the most successful films in Allu Arjun’s career. Unfortunately, it has failed to re-create the magic.
