Bholaa vs Dasara was an interesting contest box office enthusiasts were looking forward to. Here's where both the films stands on the worldwide front!
On the occasion of Ram Navami, we saw two big Indian films arriving at the box office. Yes, we’re talking about Ajay Devgn’s Bholaa and Nani’s Dasara. Coming from different industries, there was no question of direct competition as such. However, it was still an interesting battle to watch out for. Let’s see how they have performed on the worldwide front in a theatrical run of 13 days!
On the opening day, Nani’s film clearly dominated by taking a start of over 23.20 crores nett at the Indian box office. On the other hand, Ajay Devgn’s film earned 11.20 crores on day 1. After such a start, it felt like Nani would take over Ajay by a huge margin in the lifetime run, however, things have changed drastically.
Till yesterday, i.e. after a theatrical run of 13 days, Bholaa has earned 75.44 crores nett in India. Considering Ajay’s last film, Drishyam 2 earned over 240 crores in India alone, it’s clearly an underwhelming total. It is heading for a lifetime below the mark of 100 crores.
Speaking of Dasara, the film has earned 76.40 crores nett in India in 13 days. One can clearly see that despite making almost double on the opening day, the Nani starrer has slowed down eventually and has come to the level of Ajay Devgn’s action-thriller. This is a surprising trend as the reviews and word-of-mouth were in favour. Considering the snail’s pace, it won’t be shocking if the lifetime numbers stay below Bholaa.
Both films have hit the century mark globally. Bholaa has earned 89.01 crores gross in India so far. In overseas, the collection stands at 13 crores gross, taking the worldwide total to 102.01 crores gross in 13 days.
Coming to Dasara, the film has earned 90.15 crores gross in India. Including another 21 crores gross from overseas, the worldwide total stands at 111.15 crores gross. Eventually, Bholaa will catch up with Dasara.
