The second wave of COVID-19 has hit really hard across the nation. Surprisingly, South Indian films are witnessing a thunderous response despite a pandemic, but panic mode continues for Bollywood releases. Bollywood has its market set majorly in Maharashtra and northern states, which are amongst the highly affected regions of corona. Owing to the same, several big releases are postponing their release and Salman Khan’s Radhe is no exception. Seems like its new plan is set to snatch KFG Chapter 2’s open theatrical window.
Radhe is originally scheduled to release on 13th May. But as earlier confirmed by Salman, he and the team have kept a second option ready in case the COVID-19 situation continues. He had said, “If not this Eid, then next Eid for sure.” And guess what, Bhaijaan has already sorted a plan B for his fans.
Reportedly, Salman Khan and the team Radhe had a discussion and they are now eyeing Bakri Eid weekend that falls in July. The national holiday of Bakri Eid is on 21st July and it falls on Wednesday. Thus, the film might arrive during mid-week rather than being a Friday release. However, the team is still adamant about arriving on Ramzan Eid i.e. 13th May. But unfortunately, seems like people will not dare to step into theatres even if the pandemic comes under control till April end. So, the postponement is most likely to happen. But this move of Salman’s film is likely to disrupt plans of the KGF Chapter 2 team of enjoying an open window during its theatrical run.
Yash’s KGF Chapter 2 is slated to arrive on 16th July and as of now, there are no major releases in its way. It’s Alia Bhatt’s Gangubai Kathiawadi and Prabhas’ Radhe Shyam that will release on 30th July. So, if the team Radhe officially announces to come on 21st July, KGF will have to face a big dent, at least in northern states and centres like Hyderabad and Mumbai.
