Baahubali: The Beginning (Disney+ Hotstar)

In Baahubali, Prabhas nailed the character of Shivu (derived from Lord Shiva). He is shown as a man with a strong belief in Mahadeva. He is one possessing supernatural strength and is good at heart. There’s also a scene where he carries a Shivalinga on his shoulder, which has turned into iconic over the years. Directed by SS Rajamouli, you can tune into this epic blockbuster on the auspicious occasion of Maha Shivratri.

Shivaay (Amazon Prime Video)

As most Bollywood buffs know, Ajay Devgn is a huge devotee of Lord Shiva and that could be the reason he might have taken direction department under his wing. In the film, Ajay’s character is a mountaineer whose name is Shivaay. Even though the film doesn’t have any direct connection with the lord, it is a story of a force (Shivaay) who destroys evil elements. From the commercial point of view, the film wasn’t a huge success as expected, but you can give it a try for Ajay Devgn‘s intense performance.

Kedarnath (Zee5)

This is one of the most beautiful works of the late Sushant Singh Rajput, and that’s enough for you to watch it on this Maha Shivratri. Sushant plays a character named Mansoor in it. He is pure at heart and selfless (qualities of Mahadeva which is why worshippers use the term ‘Bhole’ referring to the almighty). It has a backdrop of devastating Uttarakhand floods of 2013 that engulfed the area near the Kedarnath pilgrimage. It’s a good watch for this Maha Shivratri.
