Rishab Shetty’s Kantara is absolutely rocking business at the box office. After a fair start, the film is growing with each passing day and numbers are very pleasant for distributors and exhibitors. For the unversed, the Rishab Shetty directorial released on 30th September and is another winner from the Sandalwood industry. As of now, it is playing in theatres only in the Kannada language, but looking at the demand, the film is expected to release in multiple languages soon.
Speaking about the collections, Kantara has made 34.30 crores nett collection in India after 6 days. Made on a controlled budget of 20 crores, the film is already into a profit zone. In overseas market, it has made 3 crores so far. Combining the both numbers, the worldwide collection stands at 43.47 crores gross. As the shows are being increased and the word-of-mouth has started catching up, a long theatrical run is expected and the film is set to earn big numbers in the coming days.
Meanwhile, talking to media recently, director Rishab Shetty confirmed of dubbing Kantara in multiple Indian languages due to immense public demand.
Shetty said, “Since ‘Kantara’ is doing extremely well outside Karnataka thanks to the subtitles, the film has captured the hearts of non-Kannada audience too who are raving the film on social media and have been asking for the dubbing of the film in other languages.”
“Many of them wished for ‘Kantara’ to be a pan-India release after the teaser came out but I and the producer wanted to release it as Kannada film and see the response of the audience here first,” Shetty added confirming that they’ll be making a special announcement soon about releasing the film in multiple languages.
