Sooryavanshi Beats Chennai Express In IMDb Ratings, Becomes Rohit Shetty’s 3rd Highest-Rated Film

Sooryavanshi has finally released yesterday all across the country. As we expected, the film has taken the box office by storm. Not just numbers, the film is now even making noise with its IMDb rating.

Rohit Shetty is a smart man who knows what clicks with ‘aam junta’. Every single time he serves his product, the family audience grabs it with open arms. Despite mixed reviews from the critics, the film is enjoying decent word-of-mouth among viewers. Even netizens are showering all their love by pushing the ratings of this much-awaited cop drama.

As we write, Sooryavanshi has been rated 6.3 out of 10 on IMDb. Till now, around 9,000 netizens have voted for this Rohit Shetty’s commercial entertainer. Interestingly, if we speak of only Shetty’s films, it is already his 3rd highest-rated film. It has surpassed the ratings of Shetty’s All The Best and Chennai Express on IMDb.

All The Best and Chennai Express were rated 6.2 out of 10 and 6.1 out of 10, respectively. Sooryavanshi is currently below Golmaal: Fun Unlimited (7.5) and Singham (6.8). With a kind of response Shetty’s latest release is getting, it’s expected to beat Singham in the next couple of days.

Speaking of Rohit Shetty’s remaining films on his top 10 IMDb ratings, Singham Returns (5.7), Bol Bachchan (5.6), Simmba (5.6), Golmaal 3 (5.5) and Sunday (5.4) hold 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th position respectively.

Apart from Akshay Kumar, the film also has Katrina Kaif, Jackie Shroff, Nikitin Dheer, Abhimanyu Singh, Gulshan Grover and Jaaved Jaaferi in key roles. It also has Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh in cameos. The film is the expansion of Shetty’s cop universe. Akshay’s character is expected to be seen in Shetty’s other upcoming cop projects like Singham 3 or Simmba 2.

Distributed by Reliance Entertainment and PVR Pictures, Sooryavanshi is released on over 3200 screens in India. In overseas, the film has got a decent chunk of 520 screens.
