Dostana 2: Kartik Aaryan Dropped From The Film Due To Janhvi Kapoor?

Kartik Aaryan has been getting limelight lately after he got ban from Dharma Productions recently. Dharma Productions dropped Kartik from its upcoming movie, Dostana 2, reportedly after a clash between Kartik and Karan Johar. The reason behind the ban remains unknown as no one has made it public. However, there are speculations that Karan Johar chose Janhvi Kapoor over Kartik.

Dostana 2 initially had Kartik and Janhvi in the lead roles. 60% of the shoot for the movie was completed, and crores were spent for the shoot, yet Karan Johar decided to replace his lead actor. 

Kartik Aaryan’s sudden ban from Dostana 2 remains a mystery for everyone. Many reasons have popped up, but there is no official reason. However, as per a report of Times of India, it has been claimed that Kartik’s ugly fallout with Janhvi Kapoor led to his ban from the movie. 

Till January 2021, Janhvi Kapoor and Kartik Aaryan were shooting with each other and shared a great friendship. However, things seem to take an ugly turn after January when their friendship broke. Initially, the shoot continued, but gradually things worsened to such an extent that Kartik felt uncomfortable shooting with Janhvi. He started procrastinating the remaining shoot. 

Some reports also claim that Kartik was so uncomfortable with the shoot that he called the director of the movie, Collin D’Cunha, and asked him to drop Dostana 2. He also asked the makers to drop Janhvi Kapoor from the movie. He even went to an extent of compromising his fees for another project, which he was ready to do with the production. 

Finally, when things went out of hand, Karan Johar decided to replace Kartik Aaryan. However, there has not been any replacement yet. Reportedly, Rajkummar Rao is in the race of bagging the lead.

In other news, Kartik Aaryan is reportedly dropped from another movie which he was doing with Karan Johar. It was a cricket story to be helmed by Gunjan Saxena maker Sharan Sharma. The production is now looking for another actor for the movie.
