After delivering big successes with Salaar and Kalki 2898 AD, Prabhas isn’t going to slow down anytime soon as his line-up of upcoming films is simply amazing. Among all of his upcoming magnum opuses, his very next release is going to be The Raja Saab. Breaking his usual action hero image, the superstar will be seen in carefree and fun avatar, which will be a welcome change for the audience. The film is already enjoying good buzz on the ground level and has the potential to make big earnings at the Indian box office. But will it be able to challenge Shraddha Kapoor’s dominance and create history with its day 1 collection? Let’s discuss!
The upcoming biggie is directed by Maruthi and it also stars Sanjay Dutt, Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal, and Riddhi Kumar in key roles. It is scheduled to release on December 5, 2025. A couple of weeks ago, the teaser of the film was unveiled and it was clear that it belongs to horror comedy genre, which is currently in top form.
Prabhas is king of openings!
Prabhas is truly a king of openings at the Indian box office, as since Baahubali 2, his every film, except for Radhe Shyam, has clocked a day 1 collection of more than 50 crore net. It states that when it comes to big openings, there’s one like our beloved darling. He’ll will definitely repeat the same thing with The Raja Saab, too.
Will The Raja Saab create history by beating day 1 box office collection of Stree 2?
The Raja Saab will definitely register a day 1 collection of minimum 50 crores at the Indian box office, considering the buzz around it. However, it won’t be enough to create history in the horror comedy genre. For those who don’t know, Shraddha Kapoor’s Stree 2 currently holds the record of the biggest opening for a horror comedy film in India.
Stree 2 stunned everyone by earning 64.8 crore net on day 1 (including 9.4 crores from paid previews) at the Indian box office. Now, to create history and bag the biggest opening in the horror comedy genre, The Raja Saab will need to defeat Stree 2. The task is very difficult but not impossible.
It’s difficult but not impossible
If the makers promote the film aggressively, it might be able to surpass Stree 2 with a strong support from the Hindi and Telugu markets. As Prabhas has scored above 80 crore net on day 1 with Salaar, Adipurush, and Kalki 2898 AD, in the post-COVID era, crossing Stree 2’s 64.8 crore net is also possible.
