As expected, the majority of the chunk of collection has come from Telugu states, with the Nizam region contributing an impressive share. In the last few years, re-releasing films of superstars has become a consistent practice in the industry, especially Tollywood. Fans down South are crazy for their beloved stars, so watching old classics of a favorite star on the big screen is really a treat for them. It becomes a perfect celebration for them and we have seen fans going crazy in theatres.
Considering the performance of the last few re-releases, it’s safe to say that Mahesh Babu is unbeatable when it comes to the box office collection. On the last birthday, his Businessman had registered a record-breaking start. Now, again this year, he has crossed the opening day collection with the help of his another re-release, Murari.
Day 1 collection of Murari re-release
The remastered 4K version of Murari is being screened in the Telugu states and some selected cities in India. In overseas, too, the film is being screened in selected centers, which enjoy huge footfalls among the Telugu diaspora.
Speaking about the collection, the Nizam region went full throttle by recording a collection of 2.9 crores gross. The cumulative collection from the Telugu states has been recorded at 4.4 crores gross. From overseas, Murari amassed 55 lakh gross. On the whole, the re-release did a business of 5.3 crores gross on day 1.
It’s an all-time record!
With 5.3 crores gross, Murari has created an all-time record by registering the biggest-ever opening for Tollywood re-releases. It surpassed Mahesh Babu’s own Businessman, which was re-released last year and opened at 5.2 crores gross.
