Andhagan is progressing slowly at the Indian box office. Here's how much collection it has made till now & the amount it needs to recover its budget!
Last week, Andhagan arrived in theatres and even before completing the opening week, it has slowed down more than expected. It has been made at a controlled budget but even that’s not helping as the film isn’t maintaining the necessary momentum at the Indian box office. In fact, the daily collection has gone below half a crore, thus putting the film in a dicey position. Keep reading to know how much collection it has accumulated till now!
Directed by Thiagarajan, the Tamil black comedy crime thriller stars Prashanth, Simran, Priya Anand, Karthik, and Samuthirakani in key roles. It was released in theatres on August 9, and upon its release, the film received mostly favorable reviews from critics. Even word-of-mouth has been positive but that isn’t getting reflected in footfalls.
Andhagan started its journey by earning 0.69 crore at the Indian box office. On day 2, it saw a jump and added 1.15 crores. On day 3, it showed a slight jump and earned 1.25 crores. On the first Monday (day 4), the film dropped lower than the opening day and earned 0.50 crore. Yesterday (day 5), the film fell below the half-a-crore mark and earned 0.41 crore, taking the total collection to 4 crores till now.
Here’s the day-wise collection breakdown of Andhagan at the Indian box office:
Day 1 – 0.69 crore
Day 2 – 1.15 crores
Day 3 – 1.25 crores
Day 4- 0.50 crore
Day 5 – 0.41 crore
Total – 4 crores
Even though the exact number is not known, it is reported that Andhagan carries a budget of 15 crores. So, it needs 11 crores more to recover the cost and enter the safe zone at the Indian box office. Unfortunately, considering the current slow pace, the film might not get there.
Meanwhile, for those who don’t know, the film is a remake of Sriram Raghavan’s Andhadhun, starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Tabu, Radhika Apte, and others.
