Amaran Box Office Day 1 Estimated Collection: 4th Biggest Tamil Opener Of 2024, Crosses 20 Crore Net

The highly-anticipated Amaran is finally out in theatres and very soon, it’ll be wrapping up its day 1 at the Indian box office. Riding high on pre-release buzz, the film registered a fantastic start and for Sivakarthikeyan, it’s his biggest opener by a big margin. Among Tamil films of 2024, the film has grabbed the 4th biggest opening and just missed the chance of surpassing the opening day collection of Kamal Haasan’s Indian 2.

Sivakarthikeyan has built a strong fan base over the years and today, he once again proved that he’s the next big thing in Kollywood. The way his films are being celebrated, he might grab the spot of the next big superstar after Thalapathy Vijay in the coming years. His latest release had a lot of things working in favor and there was a strong buzz on the ground. Also, it got an additional benefit from the ongoing festive season.

With a holiday factor coming into play, Amaran has registered a humongous start at the Indian box office, with the majority of business coming in from Tamil Nadu. In the Tamil version, the film started off with a superb response of over 60% occupancy, which grew to over 80% in afternoon and evening shows. Even night shows are performing brilliantly. Even the Telugu version has performed really well throughout the day.

As word-of-mouth is favorable, the over-the-counter ticket sales saw a boost and helped Amaran in crossing the 20 crore mark on day 1. Yes, the film has crossed the 20 crore mark and early estimates suggest an opening day collection of 21-23 crore net (all languages) at the Indian box office.

It’s a fantastic opening for Amaran and it cements the position of Sivakarthikeyan as the Tamil star. With such numbers, the film registered the 4th biggest opening for Kollywood in 2024 after The Greatest Of All Time, Vettaiyan, and Indian 2.
