On which movie you're putting your money?
After a gloomy 2020, filmmakers and trade experts have high hopes from 2021. Leaving Tanhaji, not a single biggie got a chance to prove itself in theatres. But now, as Covid-19 has become a new normal, people are returning to cinema halls (though in less number), thus showing a ray of hope for box office business. So, it’s obvious that hopes are high on Sooryavanshi, Radhe and Laal Singh Chaddha, which were earlier slated for 2020’s arrival.
Talking of biggies, 2021 has Sooryavanshi, Radhe, Laal Singh Chaddha, Pathan (yet to be announced) and ’83. These movies have been a topic of discussion for a long time, but as we entered into a new year, Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal is claiming its spot as a darkhorse. Let’s speak of them one by one.
Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif and Rohit Shetty’s collaboration is keenly awaited by fans. It was scheduled for March 2020’s arrival but corona came out as a curse. Nonetheless, hopes are still sky-high. Considering the fact that Shetty has his own family fan base, the movie is nothing short of a goldmine if we include Akshay’s stardom.
Salman Khan starrer too was supposed to release in 2020 but it didn’t happen. Now, it’s learnt, the makers are targetting this Eid. As it brings together Salman and Prabhudheva together yet again, there’s huge enthusiasm amongst masses. The package will be a sure shot blockbuster.
Aamir Khan in an official remake of Forrest Gump- that one seals all the deal. Mr Perfectionist is coming on his ‘patent’ slot of Christmas after a debacle of Thugs Of Hindostan and we’re sure that it won’t disappoint at the box office.
This film has generated a different level of hype around itself. The movie is yet to be announced but everyone is aware of its cast, title and every single aspect. Shah Rukh Khan’s comeback is the selling point of the movie and Deepika Padukone, John Abraham’s addition is the icing on the cake.
Cricket is a religion in India and so is the cinema. When these will combine, a blast is sure to happen. It has credentials like Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Pankaj Tripathi and Kabir Khan attached to it. Keep everything aside, its backdrop of Indian cricket team’s first world cup victory in 1983 is enough to draw masses to cinema halls.
This movie has generated a strong undercurrent post announcement. It brings two powerhouses- Ranbir Kapoor and Sandeep Reddy Vanga together. Post Kabir Singh’s monstrous success, everyone is eagerly waiting for Reddy’s next. As he said, this will be a one step ahead of Kabir Singh in terms of darkness, there’s high curiosity around the project. No wonder if this movie beats every other biggie in the list and recreates a ‘Sanju’ magic at the box office.
