Reunion of John Abraham and Nikkhil Advani

This Bollywood actioner marked the second collaboration between John Abraham and director Nikkhil Advani. They first worked together for Batla House (2019), which was a critical and commercial success. However, this time, the duo failed to meet expectations as it was swept away by the storm of Stree 2.

Vedaa tanks at the worldwide box office

Opened with mixed reviews, Vedaa failed to see a rise after a fair start on Independence Day. During the weekdays of the opening week itself, it was clear that the film would witness a bad fate and that’s what exactly happened. In the absence of major Bollywood releases, it managed to stay in theatres for more than a couple of weeks but still failed to make it big. Now, it has finally ended its theatrical run at 22.50 crores net at the Indian box office, which equals 26.55 crores gross.

In overseas, the film is a complete washout and earned just 3.20 crores gross. Adding it to the Indian gross, the worldwide box office collection wrapped up at just 29.75 crores gross.

Breakdown of Vedaa’s worldwide collection:

  • India net- 22.50 crores
  • India gross- 26.55 crores
  • Overseas grosser- 3.20 crores
  • Worldwide gross- 29.75 crores

Third worst performer of the decade of John!

John Abraham’s last film, Pathaan, was a historic blockbuster but with Vedaa, he has delivered one of the biggest disasters. If we talk about the last 10 years, the film is his third lowest-grosser. Mumbai Saga (22.86 crores gross) and Attack (23.26 crores gross) are at the top.
