Rohit Shetty’s Cirkus is all set for a release this Friday. The film marks the reunion of Ranveer Singh and Shetty after Simmba and Sooryavanshi. While the earlier collaborations have been box office successes, things aren’t looking good this time, at least if advance booking trends are to go by. Let’s see it below in detail!
In Sooryavanshi, Ranveer was seen in an extended cameo. His full-fledged collaboration with Shetty was Simmba. Released in 2018, the film was a huge hit at the Indian box office and even emerged as Shetty’s highest grossing film ever by crossing Chennai Express. With such a glorious past, the expectations are really high. Sadly, the initial signs are really disappointing.
Cirkus advance booking trend in major cities
In Mumbai, the response has been poor so far as filling fast shows are just 2-5%. Rohit Shetty’s films work big time here but this time, it’s surprisingly low. Delhi-NCR region is showing similar response. Bengaluru is slightly better with 7-9% filling fast shows. Hyderabad takes Cirkus in double-digits as 12-15% shows are filling fast. Ahmedabad is running with 8-10% filling fast shows, whereas in Chennai, it’s around 18%. Pune and Kolkata stay totally flat.
Advance booking collection so far
Cirkus is yet to hit the 1 crore mark as collection stands at 0.92 lakhs so far (as per Wednesday evening). This is worrying sign as the film has just a day of tomorrow to fetch numbers. Things are going nowhere from here and now, only a miraculous turnaround could get some respectable numbers.
Opening day expectations from Cirkus
Cirkus was initially expected to take a start similar to Drishyam 2, i.e. around 15 crores or so. However, going by the advance booking report now, even hitting a double-digit score would be a satisfying thing. The film will need a solid walk-in audience to take a healthy start at the box office.
