Tenet is the first biggie which went through a litmus test of pandemic conditions. When a majority of buffs weren’t willing to step out and watch the movie on the big screen, the Christopher Nolan directorial saw itself in a risky position. With an estimated budget of $200 million, the movie did really a good job initially but slowed down later.
Featuring John David Washington and Robert Pattinson in lead, the science fiction thriller saw multiple delays but finally released in phases. Tenet opened in the United Kingdom on 26th August 2020, while in the United States and other major territories, it released on 3rd September 2020. In India, the movie opened on 4th December 2020.
As per the last update we shared on 22nd December, Tenet had made $362.20 million. Now, almost after a month, Christopher Nolan’s movie has made a global sum of $363.12 million, as per Box Office Mojo. The movie seems to be hanged at $363 million mark and from hereon, nothing more is expected.
The movie revolves around a secret agent played by John David Washington who tries to save the world by controlling the flow of time. Just like every time, this time too Nolan came up with a unique idea, but sadly, it was a way too complex for the normal audience. The combination of niche content and pandemic conditions caused a huge dent to otherwise a superior movie. Thankfully, the movie is enjoying a huge buzz for its OTT release and its small screen release is expected to darn a revenue game.
Meanwhile, Nolan shot a considerable amount of the movie in Mumbai. Just like every foreign visitor, the maverick filmmaker too is in awe of Mumbai and recently expressed his desire for filming more movies in the city.
