Yesterday, we witnessed an opening day battle between two highly-anticipated Bollywood threequels and interestingly, both emerged victorious. Yes, despite the division of screens, both Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 scored fantastic numbers. The leading actors of the respective films, Ajay Devgn and Kartik Aaryan, saw the biggest openings of their careers. Let’s find out how these films performed at the worldwide box office on day 1!
Singham Again VS Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 at the Indian box office
Initially, it felt like Singham Again would take a big lead considering its face value, Singham brand, and Cop Universe factor but Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’s performance spring a big surprise for trade. While the Ajay Devgn starrer enjoyed an upper hand in terms of screen/ show count, Kartik Aaryan’s film performed extraordinarily in whatever showcasing it got. Even Ajay’s film pulled off a superb start.
The Singham threequel smashed an opening day collection of 43.70 crores net (51.56 crores gross) at the Indian box office. On the other hand, the Bhool Bhulaiyaa threequel earned 36.60 crores net (43.18 crores gross) on day 1.
Singham Again VS Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 at the worldwide box office
Both films performed on similar lines in the overseas market, but it was Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 that emerged victorious with a slightly higher collection than Singham Again.
The Kartik Aaryan starrer clocked a start of 12.28 crores gross in overseas. Among the major contributors, North America (USA and Canada) contributed 5.24 crores, the Gulf contributed 2.60 crores, and the UK contributed 1.38 crores.
Ajay Devgn’s film earned 12.19 crores gross in overseas on its day 1. Among the major contributors, North America (USA and Canada) contributed 5.18 crores, the Gulf contributed 3.23 crores, and the UK contributed 1.18 crores.
After combining the Indian and overseas gross, Singham Again raked in a smashing start of 63.75 crores gross globally. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 registered 55.46 crores gross on day 1 at the worldwide box office. Together, both films have earned a cumulative collection of 119.21 crores gross.
