Thalapathy Vijay’s The Greatest Of All Time has been a mixed bag at the box office. In regions like Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Kerala, where it was expected to perform brilliantly, the film has failed to meet expectations. On the other hand, in the remaining parts of India and overseas centers, it has hit the bright spot. Most recently, The GOAT has written history in Sri Lanka.
Over the years, the Tamil film industry has witnessed massive growth in the overseas market, more importantly, because the Tamil diaspora is increasing significantly in several important circuits. One such is Sri Lanka, where the percentage of Tamilians is more than that of India. Now, with The GOAT, Thalapathy Vijay has proved his dominance over the country by achieving an unbelievable milestone.
At the Sri Lankan box office, The Greatest Of All Time has become the first Indian film to cross 30 crores LKR (Sri Lankan Rupee). If converted to Indian rupee, it equals 8.58 crores. In fact, it has also become the first Indian film in history to cross 26, 27, 28, and 29 crores at the Sri Lankan box office. This clearly indicates that how big a success the film has turned out to be in Sri Lanka.
From here, The GOAT is aiming to finish its run at 31 crores LKR (8.87 crores INR).
Meanwhile, The Greatest Of All Time is on the verge of ending its theatrical run globally, and as of now, it is streaming on Netflix in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.
